The New Year is Almost Here!

Hello Bloggers!

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!

Celine and I can't believe that the New Year is almost here
and with the new year comes New Year's Resolutions.

Below are the current New Year's Resolutions I have:

1. Read a New Book Each Month

Celine and I have decided we would like to read a
new book each month.  We are both currently reading
The Leadership Challenge and so far it has been great.
Let us know if you have any book recommendations.
I am thinking about reading The Perks of Being a Wallflower next.

2. Exercise and A Healthy Diet

I stumbled upon this awesome blogger
Undressed Skeleton. She has so many great tips
on eating healthy and great snack alternatives too.
She also shares a lot of her recipes too.  So, I will
definitely be checking out her site to help me with this
New Year's Resolution.

3.  Keeping Memories

I am not sure if this is considered a resolution or not
but I found this cute idea to keep memories on Pinterest.
Inside a jar, you place memories you wish to keep
throughout the year inside the jar.  On New Year's Eve,
you can go through each of your memories you made. :]

Memory Jar, Put memories made throughout the year in the Jar. Then on New Years Eve empty and read them all from the wonderful year you've had :)

Do you have resolutions for the New Year?

Fashion Friday

Hey Bloggers! It's Fashion Friday.

Favorite Shoes

These are a few of my favorite shoes:

1. Hunter boots. These are my favorite shoes to wear in the winter and those rainy days! In the winter, I just pair them up with fleece socks and they keep my toes nice and warm.  They also keep your pants dry from snow and rain puddles.

2. Bean boots. I do not own a pair of bean boots yet, but I really want to add them to my wardrobe.  These boots are just a classic staple for the winter.

3. Loafers. Another pair of shoes that I would like to add to my wardrobe are a pair of penny loafers.  I have a dressy brown pair of loafers with a cute tassel from Bass shoes, but I would like a casual pair of loafers.

4. Tory Burch Reva Flats. My uncle purchased these shoes over Thanksgiving as an early Christmas present and I really like them.  They are great for a casual outfit or even a dressy outfit! You can wear them with skin jeans and a cute top or with dress pants.  You can pair these revas with a ton of outfits.  A perfect staple for your wardrobe.

5. Jack Rogers Classic Navajos. These are my favorite sandals during the spring and summer.  I bought a pair of platinum Jack Rogers and they went with everything.

6. Sebago Boat Shoes. I enjoy wearing boat shoes.  I wear them with jeans, khakis, corduroy skirts, and shorts.

7. Asics. These are my favorite brand for running shoes.  I have worn these since middle school.  I was in Cross Country and these were my favorite.  I also wore this brand for my track spikes.

What are your favorite shoes?

Daily Prayer

(Adapted from the Universal Prayer attributed to Pope Clement XI)

Lord, I believe in you, increase my faith.
I trust in you, strengthen my trust
I love you, let me love you more and more.
I am sorry for my sins, deepen my sorrow

I offer my thoughts: to be fixed on you;
my words: to have you for their theme
my actions: to reflect my love for you
my sufferings: to be endured for your greater glory

I want to do what you ask of me: in the way that you ask
for as long as you ask, because you ask it.

Lord, enlighten my understanding
strengthen my will
purify my heart
and make me holy

Help me to conquer anger with gentleness
greed by generosity
apathy with fervor
help me to forget myself and reach out towards others.

Teach me to realize that this world is passing,
that my future is the happiness of Heaven
that life on earth is short
and the life to come eternal

Lead me safely through the life to the endless joys of eternity. Amen.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday.

God Bless,

Christmas Pajamas

Yesterday, our family was on a hunt for Christmas Eve pajamas.
Our family is pretty funny when it comes to Christmas traditions.
We always tend to add some here and there as well as subtract some.
This year we have decided to add the Christmas Eve pajamas to our new Christmas traditions.

First, we headed to Target to look at their pajamas,
but options were limited and they were out of a lot of sizes.
So, we decided to head on over to the mall and this is what we found:
Christmas Pajamas
We found these cute pajamas at Victoria Secret.
They are the Dreamer Flannel Pajamas.

Do you receive pajamas on Christmas Eve?

Christmas Movies

I enjoy watching Christmas Movies.
I am currently watching A Charlie Brown Christmas.

In this movie, I really like when Charlie Brown screams "does anyone know what Christmas is about?"
Then, Linus tells Charlie Brown that Christmas is all about Jesus Christ and celebrating his birth.
(Luke 2:9-11)

Here are some of my favorite Christmas movies:

{Elf}

{The Santa Clause}

{Jack Frost (1979)}

{The Grinch}

What are your favorite Christmas movies?

On the 12th Day of Christmas

Just recently, we found out that the Twelve Days of Christmas has a Catholic background.  It was originally created in England to help young Catholics learn their faith. In the time that it was created, Catholics could not have anything in writing about the faith or they would have been killed. The song helped them remember significant aspects of the Catholic faith.

5 Golden Rings = The first Five Books of the Old Testament, the "Pentateuch", which gives the history of man's fall from grace.

Happy Feast Day!

Hello All!

Happy Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe!

Image found online.

O Immaculate Virgin, Mother of the true God and Mother of the Church!, who from this place reveal your clemency and your pity to all those who ask for your protection, hear the prayer that we address to you with filial trust, and present it to your Son Jesus, our sole Redeemer.
Mother of Mercy, Teacher of hidden and silent sacrifice, to you, who come to meet us sinners, we dedicate on this day all our being and all our love. We also dedicate to you our life, our work, our joys, our infirmities and our sorrows. Grant peace, justice and prosperity to our peoples; for we entrust to your care all that we have and all that we are, our Lady and Mother. We wish to be entirely yours and to walk with you along the way of complete faithfulness to Jesus Christ in His Church; hold us always with your loving hand.
Virgin of Guadalupe, Mother of the Americas, we pray to you for all the Bishops, that they may lead the faithful along paths of intense Christian life, of love and humble service of God and souls. Contemplate this immense harvest, and intercede with the Lord that He may instill a hunger for holiness in the whole people of God, and grant abundant vocations of priests and religious, strong in the faith and zealous dispensers of God’s mysteries.
Grant to our homes the grace of loving and respecting life in its beginnings, with the same love with which you conceived in your womb the life of the Son of God. Blessed Virgin Mary, protect our families, so that they may always be united, and bless the upbringing of our children.
Our hope, look upon us with compassion, teach us to go continually to Jesus and, if we fall, help us to rise again, to return to Him, by means of the confession of our faults and sins in the Sacrament of Penance, which gives peace to the soul.
We beg you to grant us a great love for all the holy Sacraments, which are, as it were, the signs that your Son left us on earth.
Thus, Most Holy Mother, with the peace of God in our conscience, with our hearts free from evil and hatred, we will be able to bring to all true joy and true peace, which come to us from your son, our Lord Jesus Christ, who with God the Father and the Holy Spirit, lives and reigns for ever and ever.
Amen.

Army/Navy Game

This past Saturday, I attend the Army/Navy Football Game.
It was such a great game.

The Navy FOCUS team was able to get tickets.
Here is a picture of us at the game:

I found these pictures below on the United States Naval Academy Facebook page:
The midshipmen have won the Army/Navy game 11 years in a row.

This is an image of the 13th Company at the Academy.
Ever year, the 13th company runs up the ball from Annapolis to Philadelphia.

The final score: Navy 17 Army 13

Happy Wednesday

“God doesn’t ask that we succeed in everything, but that we are faithful.
However beautiful our work may be, let us not become attached to it.
Always remain prepared to give it up, without losing your peace.”
– Blessed Mother Teresa

Blessed Mother Teresa is a woman whom I will always admire.
A woman who continues to inspire me long after she has left
this Earth.  She is a women of great knowledge, of great peace, and
has an incredible friendship with Jesus.

She is a great example of an honorable woman that strived to
serve God above all things.  She shared God's love with
all those she met and through her struggles she continued to glorify God.

I  believe that life will give us many struggles.  I believe that others will
question our faith and pressure us to desire worldly things. We must continue to stand
strong and believe in God with all our hearts, and our minds.  I pray that others
will come to know the love of Jesus and desire Him with all their hearts.

God will provide for all that we need and in the times of struggle, may we look to Him.

Happy Advent!

Happy First Sunday of Advent!
Let us all prepare for Christmas.

"Father in heaven, our hearts desire the warmth of your love
and our minds are searching for the light of your Word.
Increase our longing for Christ our Savior
and give us the strength to grow in love, that the dawn of his coming
may find us rejoicing in his presence
and welcoming the light of his truth.
We ask this in the name of Jesus the Lord. Amen." [prayer link]

God Bless,
